Ghana National Fire Service Intensifies Fire Safety Training for Rock City Hotel Staff in Kwahu East
The Aduamoa Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) at Kwahu Nkwatia has reinforced its commitment to fire prevention and emergency preparedness with a targeted fire safety training programme for selected staff of Rock City Hotel in the Kwahu East District.
The training, organized by Samuel Arkoh Morgan, HR and Administration Manager of Rock City Hotel, aimed to strengthen staff capacity to prevent and effectively respond to potential fire outbreaks within the facility.
Addressing participants, officials emphasized that fire, while beneficial when properly managed, poses significant risks to lives and property if handled irresponsibly. The session focused on equipping staff with practical skills, clear emergency procedures, and the confidence to respond swiftly in the event of a fire incident.
Fire safety, the facilitators noted, goes beyond regulatory compliance and should be viewed as a shared responsibility to protect lives, property, and workplaces. Participants were reminded that preparedness is a continuous obligation and not a one-time exercise.
The training also highlighted the importance of proactive hazard prevention and vigilance in homes, schools, workplaces, and communities.
Describing the session as impactful, Samuel Arkoh Morgan, HR and Administration Manager of Rock City Hotel noted that the training was well delivered, combining both theoretical instruction and practical, hands-on exercises. He added that the experiential learning approach would enhance understanding and ensure effective transfer of knowledge into real-world application.
Resource persons for the programme included District Fire Commander DIII Ofori Addo Michael, Safety Officer Stno Owusu Joseph, Training Officer SubO Boamah Nicholas, and FM Anim Eugene, 2IC Administration.
The initiative forms part of ongoing efforts by the Ghana National Fire Service to promote safety awareness and reduce fire-related incidents across the district.
